Projects

  • Adamlam
Sensor based adaptive laser micromachining using ultrashort pulse lasers for zero-failure manufacturing. Within this project the goal is to develop an adaptive laser micromachining system, based on ultrashort pulsed laser ablation and a novel depth measurement sensor, together with advanced data analysis software and automated system calibration routines.

  • Nanoclean
Optimisation and upscaling of self-cleaning surfaces for the automotive sector by combining tailored nanostructured machined injection tools and functional thermoplastic nanocompounds.

  • Phobic2ice
Within this project the goal is to develop surface technologies and predictive simulation tools for limiting the accretion of ice onto surfaces. The durability of functional surfaces has to be optimised for specific aircraft components in order to reduce associated maintenance. The technical approach is based on new green, efficient surface technologies comparing on coatings, anodization processes and laser texturation.
